Dreamscapes (2023)
“I am the Wind Fish… long has been my slumber… In my dreams… an egg appeared and was surrounded by an island, with people, animals, an entire world! … … … … But, verily, it be the nature of dreams to end! When I dost awaken, Koholint will be gone… only the memory of this dream land will exist in the waking world… Someday, thou may recall this island… that memory must be the real dream world … … … … Come, Link, let us awaken… together!!” — The Wind Fish, Link’s Awakening

Patternmind came into being during the onset of the pandemic in Spring 2020. With nowhere to physically go, I turned inwards into imagination. Inside this space, I experienced visions of beautiful lush worlds that exist only in dreams. Many contained the necessary components for life and have served as reminders of what we’d lost.
I started producing a series of dreamwave mixes to create tangible portals for accessing these otherworldly places that gleam with endless facets of emotions. Journeying often, I continued finding new worlds and constructed portals to each within this centralized hub of cross-dimensional digital space.
It is now late December 2023. The pandemic has subsided, yet the portals remain open. To commemorate this expedition, I have created a double-length retrospective mix comprised of 35 tracks sourced from these 16 portals. Several new surprises have been added for additional warmth. This is to be my final entry for this series, providing closure to this three-year chapter.
To further express gratitude for what was, what is, and what will be, I’ve captured a series of personal dreamscapes and shared them within a companion gallery below. These pieces will remain as timeless relics, solidified in the resin of this blissful bygone era.
My dear listener, thank you kindly for being here with me amidst the infinite lifestream. It’s once again time to venture forward into the unknowable mists of the future and forge a new path. Perhaps we’ll meet again inside of another dream… somewhere, someday.
